![]() Newsrack is a universal app (a plus) and is available for 4.99 at. It has been around since close to launch of the iPad as well which was a plus for people who did not want to settle for the NetNewsWire 10 dollar crap. Newsrack is a powerful RSS reader for the iPad. There is also plenty of settings in Newsrack which makes it unique and a powerful RSS Reader.Īs a note that is a scrolling list for settings so there are more than those shown. Pretty much any way to share an article is available which a great feature to have in an RSS reader. There are plenty of sharing features in Newsrack (as there should be) which is shown by the screenshot below. Also a good note is that clicking on the title of any article in the right window will bring up the website to view the entire feed if need be (looking at you Macworld!). Very useful for scrolling through numerous feeds on the left while a feed or website is loading on the right. Any feed you click to read will appear in the right window while your list of feeds appear in the left. Using landscape is where this app shines. Now I prefer to use Newsrack in landscape mode and here is why. From here you can make individual feeds read, mark them all read, click to view the a feed, or download all images or delete the read articles. In portrait mode pressing the unread button in the top left of the screen will reveal a listing of your unread feeds. If you have most of your feeds set up in folders the folders will appear like mine do above and you can click into each folder to view the individual feeds. The initial newsrack screen will look like this (once sync is set-up). But I digress, Newsrack is great RSS reader which has functionality that will seem familiar to a lot of people, which is not necessarily always a bad thing. If there is no sync set up for your feeds then you can not successfully check feeds on multiple devices. Newsrack syncs with Google Reader which I feel is a must for any type of feed reader. So is visually reading RSS feeds the way to go or should one venture the way of traditional RSS readers? Well lets look at a couple of apps then you can make the decision for yourself.įirst lets look at Newsrack. There are tons available in the app store. ![]() ![]() RSS Readers for the iPad are not in short supply and the new rage are visual RSS readers. ![]()
